MACSO Technologies Ltd. ("us", "we", or "our") operates the macso.ai website and associated products and services (collectively, the "Service").
We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, capitalised terms used herein have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, accessible at macso.ai/terms-of-service.
DEFINITIONS

In this Privacy Policy, the following terms shall have the meanings set out below:
"Anonymized Sensory Data" means sensory data collected through the Service that has been irreversibly de-identified such that it can no longer be attributed, directly or indirectly, to you, any User, or any individual or entity associated with your operations.

"Authorised Distributor" means any third party entity that: (a) resells MACSO's products or services; or (b) has integrated or embedded MACSO's artificial intelligence technology within their own solution or platform, and in each case has been authorised by MACSO to do so pursuant to a separate written agreement with MACSO.

"Cookies" means small data files sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device, which may include an anonymous unique identifier.

"Customer" means the entity or individual that has entered into an agreement with MACSO or an Authorised Distributor to access the Service.

"Distributor Privacy Policy" means the privacy policy of the applicable Authorised Distributor that governs the collection, use, and processing of your personal data where you access the Service through that Authorised Distributor.

"Event Data" means data collected through interactions with the Service, including user actions, spoken instructions, voice inputs, audio signatures, and other behavioural signals, collected to improve the Service and train machine learning models.

"Keyword Data" means data collected specifically to assist in training MACSO's machine learning models, which may include spoken or typed instructions and other inputs provided through the Service.

"Personal Data" means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, including but not limited to name, email address, phone number, IP address, and device identifiers.

"Processor" means a natural or legal person, public authority, agency, or other body which processes Personal Data on behalf of a Controller, as defined under applicable data protection law.

"Service" means the macso.ai website and all associated MACSO products, platforms, dashboards, applications, and services.
​
"Service Providers" means third party companies and individuals engaged by MACSO to facilitate, deliver, or support the Service.

"SMS Data" means personal data collected in connection with SMS communications, including phone numbers, alert metadata, and opt-in consent records.

"Usage Data" means information collected automatically when you access or use the Service, including IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, time and date of visits, time spent on pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.

"User" means any individual who accesses or uses the Service, whether directly or through a Customer account.
AUTHORISED DISTRIBUTOR CUSTOMERS

If you access the Service through an Authorised Distributor rather than directly through MACSO, please be aware that the Distributor Privacy Policy of your Authorised Distributor governs the collection, use, and processing of your personal data and takes precedence over this Privacy Policy.
MACSO makes no representations or warranties as to the terms of any Distributor Privacy Policy. Your rights with respect to your personal data are determined solely by the applicable Distributor Privacy Policy, which is accessible directly through your dashboard. We strongly encourage you to review that policy carefully.
Where MACSO processes any data on behalf of an Authorised Distributor, it does so in its capacity as a Processor, and the Authorised Distributor acts as the Controller of that data.
INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.
Types of Data Collected
Personal Data
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). Personal Data may include, but is not limited to:

Usage Data
We may also collect information about how the Service is accessed and used ("Usage Data"). Usage Data may include information such as your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.
Tracking & Cookies Data
We use Cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our Service and store certain information. Tracking technologies also used include beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyse our Service.
You can instruct your browser to refuse all Cookies or to indicate when a Cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept Cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

Keyword and Event Data Collection

We may collect Keyword Data and Event Data specifically to assist us in training our machine learning models and improving our Service. Where we collect such data, it will be anonymized and not linked to your Personal Data unless specifically stated and provided by you at that time.
Keyword and Event Data collection may include voice inputs, spoken instructions, or other audio signatures that assist us in improving the Service. Tracking and Cookies Data is typically gathered alongside Keyword and Event Data, which allows us to determine certain contextual information such as browser type and usage patterns. By participating in a Keyword or Event Data Collection, you acknowledge that your data is being utilised in this way and in accordance with our Use of Data policies below.
Anonymized Sensory Data

MACSO retains Anonymized Sensory Data collected through the Service for the purposes of training its artificial intelligence models and improving the functionality and performance of its products and services. Anonymized Sensory Data is irreversibly de-identified and cannot be used to identify you, your farm, or any individual associated with your operations.
Your company and personal data will be anonymized 18 months after you terminate your contract with MACSO or the applicable Authorised Distributor. This retention period is maintained to ensure service continuity should you choose to resume use of the Service within that period. Once anonymized, this data may be retained indefinitely for longitudinal research, model training, and service improvement purposes.
USE OF DATA

DATA OWNERSHIP

MACSO reserves the right to retain collected Event Data, Keyword Data, and Anonymized Sensory Data for the purposes of model training and improving product and service quality. Such data will be anonymized in accordance with this Privacy Policy and will not be used to identify you personally.
Any modification of the Service by you, including but not limited to connecting the dashboard and/or alert system to a third-party messaging application, or sharing or saving your information on third-party applications, is carried out entirely at your own risk. Any resulting loss of data or data leakage arising from such modifications is not the responsibility of MACSO. Please refer to Section 8 of our Terms and Conditions for further details on Third Party Products.
TRANSFER OF DATA

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. No transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organisation or a country unless there are adequate controls in place, including the security of your data and other personal information.
Any personal information provided to us will be collected and held by, or on behalf of, MACSO Technologies Ltd. at Level 2, 110 Customs Street West, Auckland 1010, and/or at cloud providers or data centres used by us (which may be located in New Zealand or overseas). We will ensure that any storage on such platforms provides adequate security measures.
New Zealand's privacy laws have been deemed adequate by the European Commission. Where we transfer your information outside of New Zealand, we take steps to ensure that such transfers are to third parties and/or countries with adequate safeguards in place, and are conducted in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

SMS DATA PRIVACY

MACSO respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data, including information collected for SMS communications.
We do not share SMS opt-in data or consent (including phone numbers or related metadata) with any third parties, except for trusted Service Providers that support our infrastructure and alert systems. This applies even in cases where other personal data may be shared for analytics, system maintenance, or service improvement purposes.
SMS Data is collected only with your explicit consent and used solely for the purpose of delivering SMS alerts, such as farm health notifications, system updates, or security verifications.
Your SMS Data, including phone numbers and alert metadata, is securely stored and processed using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and ThingsBoard. These platforms enable MACSO to deliver reliable and secure notifications while maintaining system performance and data protection standards. While MACSO retains full control over your data and its use, such data is also subject to the AWS Privacy Policy and the ThingsBoard Privacy Policy.
If you opt out of SMS notifications, MACSO will permanently delete your phone number and all associated SMS Data from its systems within a reasonable timeframe after your opt-out request is processed.
MACSO will never sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your SMS Data to external parties. Your data will be used exclusively to deliver the services you have explicitly opted into.
SECURITY OF DATA

The security of your data is important to us. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
We maintain processes to prevent unauthorised access to, or use of, the personal and other information we collect. In most cases, we use the HTTPS protocol for secure communication of our pages over the Internet.
Where you choose to integrate the Service with any third-party application, platform, or software not provided or expressly authorised by MACSO, we cannot guarantee the security of your data once it is transmitted to or processed by that third party. MACSO bears no liability for any data breach, unauthorised access, loss, or leakage of your Personal Data arising from or in connection with such third-party integrations. You are solely responsible for reviewing and accepting the security and privacy practices of any third-party application you choose to connect to the Service.
SERVICE PROVIDERS

We may employ Service Providers to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services, or to assist us in analysing how our Service is used.
These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.
CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. We will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service prior to the change becoming effective, and update the effective date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
